1. Women Ownership & Control

  1. The business must be at least 51% women-owned.

  2. The business must be controlled, managed, and operated by one or more women.

  3. The women owners must have full decision-making power on the daily operations, policies, and finances.

2. Business Type

  1. The business must be a small business.

  2. The business must be independently owned (no major control by large corporations)
  3. .Must not be franchise-owned unless the franchise is independently run by women.

3. Geographic Location

  1. The business based within the United States
  2. Businesses must comply with local laws and regulations.

4. Proof of Women Ownership

  1. Businesses must provide proof of women ownership (e.g., business license, articles of incorporation, or women business certification).


5. Business Conduct

  1. Businesses must have legal standing and be in good financial and operational condition.
  2. No history of fraudulent or unethical business practices.

  3. Customer reviews and a proven track record of quality or service may be considered.
  4. No businesses involved in illegal activity, gambling, cryptocurrency, or any high-risk or unethical industries.

6. Niche & Industry

  1. SheBiz Directory welcomes businesses from all industries, but businesses must be actively engaged in their industry (not dormant or temporarily closed).

  2. Businesses must have a clear online presence (e.g., website, social media, or online store) for discoverability.

7. Business Values

  1. SheBiz Directory prioritizes businesses that align with ethical practices (e.g., sustainability, fair labor practices, diversity, and inclusion).
