Description
Got Old Wood is owned and operated by Tammy Barrow and Julie Adler-Birch, a mother-daughter team who have a deep passion for this business. They love working with their inventory of old wood and are even more excited about the results of their efforts and the effect their results have on their customers. Got Old Wood specializes in reclaiming and selling high-end, refurbished barn wood sourced from historic Utah barns, live-edged slabs from Oregon, and weathered snow fence from Wyoming. They recently dismantled a barn in Meadowville, Utah (just southwest of Bear Lake) that was built in 1880. They have documented the different layers they go through on their website, www.gotoldwood.com. They provide community service with their efforts to refurbish old wood and made it useable again to beautify internal and external home designs to make warm and rustic aesthetics. Besides Accent Walls, fireplace mantels, sliding barn doors, floating shelves, countertops, etc., they build beautiful tables, desks, picture frames, chess/checker boards, assorted trays, and much more. They are so confident in the potential of this business, they are continually searching for ideas to increase their clientele. They can brag that the Ralph Lauren Company from New York used their inventory and carpentry skills for props to use at a photo shoot at the Tate Barn in Midway, Utah. They have contacted local movie studios to request a partnership as a supplier for old wood for their set designs for western movies and such. They have been showcased in an article in the Savvy Home Services Magazine and Salt Lake Sideways. They also advertise in the Mountain Magazine which caters to people in Park City and Heber Valley and local people through the Value Pages. Through these continued efforts, they anticipate increased sales. They are proud of their contribution to the environment by reclaiming as much of old barn wood as possible to help prevent pollution caused by burning down old barns or the overpopulation of the landfills.
