Proof of Women Ownership
Description
What Does Your Company Do?
My Life in Mud is a women-owned, minority-led mental health and wellness–centered healing and education business that transforms lived experience into practical tools for self-worth, emotional resilience, and personal empowerment.
Through award-winning storytelling, guided courses, reflective workbooks, and community-centered learning, My Life in Mud supports women in reconnecting with their voice, nervous system regulation, and inner wisdom. The work integrates mental health awareness, trauma-informed practices, and creative expression to help individuals move from survival patterns into self-trust, clarity, and sustainable growth.
This work is not about fixing what is broken.
It is about remembering what has always been whole.
Who Does It Help?
My Life in Mud serves women—particularly those from marginalized, minority, and underrepresented communities—who are navigating emotional healing after trauma, emotional neglect, identity disruption, grief, or prolonged stress.
This work is especially supportive for:
Trauma survivors and women in recovery seeking non-clinical, trauma-informed wellness tools
Women healing from dysfunctional family systems, codependency, or emotionally unsafe relationships
Highly sensitive, empathic, and creative women looking for grounded nervous system–supportive practices
Women rebuilding their lives, identities, or sense of purpose after burnout, loss, or transition
Those seeking mental health–adjacent wellness resources that complement (or exist outside of) traditional therapy
My Life in Mud creates spaces where women feel seen without having to justify their pain, empowered without being pushed to “fix” themselves, and supported as they build lives rooted in authenticity, self-worth, emotional regulation, and inner safety.

International Impact Book Award
January 7, 2026 at 6:21 pmReview of My Life in Mud: A Memoir by Noel Nguyen
Recipient of the International Impact Book Award
My Life in Mud: A Memoir is a profoundly affecting work that transcends personal storytelling to become a cultural and historical contribution. Rooted in the adoptee experience following the Vietnam War, Noel Nguyen’s memoir explores displacement by country, abandonment at birth, adoption, and the complex blending of identities formed during one of the most controversial post-war periods in modern history.
The book’s receipt of the International Impact Book Award is especially significant because this honor is reserved for authors whose work creates influence far beyond the page. The award recognizes stories that shape culture, preserve lived history, and elevate voices that have long been silenced or overlooked. My Life in Mud exemplifies this mission. Nguyen does not merely recount an individual life; she bears witness to a collective experience shared by adoptees, trauma survivors, and those shaped by generational and systemic disruption.
Through poetic, lyrical, and illustrative prose, Nguyen captures the inner realities of PTSD, trauma, dysfunctional family systems, and survival-based identities. Her writing is unflinching yet compassionate, revealing how early wounds imprint the nervous system while also illuminating the path from survivorship to healing. The memoir’s lotus flower metaphor—blooming through the mud—becomes a quiet but powerful framework for transformation, resilience, and self-remembrance.
What makes this book award-worthy is its dual impact: it is both deeply personal and universally resonant. While centered on adoption and displacement, My Life in Mud speaks to anyone who has experienced not belonging, emotional neglect, identity fracture, or the long journey of trauma healing. Nguyen’s voice offers validation without sentimentality and hope without erasure, honoring pain while demonstrating the possibility of growth and integration.
The International Impact Book Award affirms what readers feel instinctively when encountering this memoir: that My Life in Mud is not only a story well told, but a necessary one. It stands as a testament to the power of lived experience, the importance of preserving difficult histories, and the courage it takes to transform personal truth into collective healing.
